We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes. We may share your information in the following circumstances:

  • Service providers: with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, cloud hosting, analytics, customer support, and marketing, under contractual obligations to protect your information
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction

4. Data Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Role-based access limiting employee access to personal information on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing
  • Incident response procedures to detect, investigate, and respond to potential data breaches

Despite these measures, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We and our third-party partners use cookies, web beacons, SDKs, and similar tracking technologies to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember your preferences
  • Understand how you use the Services and measure the effectiveness of our features
  • Deliver personalized content and advertising
  • Detect and prevent fraud

Types of cookies we use include strictly necessary cookies (required for the app to function), performance and analytics cookies, and preference cookies. You can control cookie settings through your device or browser settings, and where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies. Please note that disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use some features of the Services.

6. Third-Party Services

The Services may contain links to, or integrate with, third-party websites, applications, or services that are not owned or controlled by Kai. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party service before providing your personal information to them.

7. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to, and are not intended for use by, individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under the applicable age, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information promptly. If you believe we may have collected information from a child, please contact us using the details in Section 12.

8. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your information
  • Request a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • Opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe link or adjusting your notification settings

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 12. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we may need to verify your identity before processing your request.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected: for example, account information is generally retained for as long as your account remains active plus a limited period afterward, while transaction records may be retained longer to meet accounting and legal requirements. When personal information is no longer needed, we securely delete, destroy, or anonymize it.

10. International Data Transfers

Kai operates internationally, and your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including countries that may have different data protection laws. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection, including through the use of standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or other legally recognized transfer mechanisms, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated policy on this page, updating the "Last Updated" date, and, where appropriate, providing additional notice such as an in-app notification or email.
